Environmental Education/Recycling
We work in conjunction with the Lake County Solid Waste District and the Lake County Department of Utilities to provide educational programs which teach the importance of reduce, reuse, and recycle to the general public, community groups, and schools. Our hope is to improve the environment for future generations. In addition, information is available on the various recycling opportunities being offered in communities, as well as information regarding the upcoming county-wide special collections.

CLEAN AND GREEN LAKE COUNTY! APRIL 19 - MAY 11, 2008
The Ohio State University Extension is encouraging schools, businesses, scout troops, neighborhood groups, and civic organizations to take part in the annual Clean & Green Lake County Clean-up.
Everyone is invited to adopt a public area in his or her community and give it a good spring-cleaning. The Extension office can provide trash bags, gloves, and McDonalds’ refreshment coupons to all participants.
Wickliffe, Mentor, and Willoughby are sponsoring special community events. Contact Cheryl Niese at (440) 350-2208 for the Clean & Green Coordinator in your community, or to receive trash bags and other incentives.
Thanks to the Lake County Commissioners, Lake County Solid Waste District, The Lake County Department of Utilities, and McDonalds’ Restaurants in Lake County for their support of Clean & Green Lake County!
