    The Lake County office of OSU Extension will be reopening on Thursday, June 18, 2020 with limited hours by appointment only.

  2. Summer Meals Available for Children

    The USDA Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) was established to fill the gap when children lose access to meals when schools are closed. Most often this occurs during summer vacation. However, during school closures related to the pandemic, meals are also being made available. You have the opportunity to supplement the food you have at home with meals and snacks for your children from local schools and community organizations. In an effort to maintain social distancing, USDA has made temporary changes that allow parents or guardians to pick up meals and take them home for their children.

  3. Fundraising Effort for Camp Whitewood

    In order to continue providing high-quality community and youth development programming through outdoor educational and recreational activities for all, Camp Whitewood is asking for the community’s support.

    For more than 60 years, Camp Whitewood has been a “home away from home” and the highlight of summer for many campers. Since our first summer in 1940, youth have visited camp to make memories and enjoy swimming, boating, fishing, crafts and so much more on 200 acres of beautifully preserved land.

For some, the loss of jobs has greatly affected families and their communities. For others, it is declining health along with inadequate health insurance coverage that puts their economic well-being and quality of life at risk. Whatever the situation, we are here to help.

  5. Parent Cafes Registration Now Available Online

    Scheduling Parent Cafés. Based on strengthening family protective factors, OSU Extension, Lake County has teamed up with the Children's Trust Fund and Rainbow Injury Prevention Center to deliver parenting education and parenting cafés sessions virtually. This program helps develop strong habits for thriving family success, prepare children for successful adulthood and creates vibrant communities through learning ways to build resiliency, support, social connections and family strengths.

  6. OSU Extension closed until further notice

    Mar. 17, 2020

    Governor DeWine recently issued a state of emergency and implemented a variety of strategies to reduce the spread of the disease. In order to do our part in reducing risk to our employees or clientele, we have implemented a teleworking plan. OSU Extension offices will be closed to the public until further notice.

  7. 4-H Volunteer & Youth Development Day

    Feb. 13, 2018

    Join 4-H volunteers and youth from across Northeast Ohio to "Make the Best Better!" Volunteers and 4-H youth are invited to this multi-county educational opportunity. Participants will be able to complete their mandatory 1.50 training, attend 2 workshops, or complete their new volunteer orientation requirement. Registration starts at 5:45 and the mandatory 1.50 training begins promptly at 6:15.

  10. Conversations on the Future of Extension

    Celebrating the significant accomplishments and deep impact that OSU Extension has had on communities and in the lives of Ohioans provides a great springboard for the future. A significant component of Ohio’s celebration in 2014 will be a year-long process focused on our future. The primary work this year will center on futuring – asking questions about and envisioning the long-term future of OSU Extension as well as the role the organization should play in shaping and positively impacting Ohio and Ohio residents.
