Thomas deHaas is the Agricultural and Natural Resources Educator. Tom has over 40 years of experience in a variety of educational and horticultural fields. He holds a B.S. in Horticulture/Agriculture Education from The Ohio State University and a M.A. in Education Specialist from Cleveland State University. His Agricultural and Natural Resources background includes landscape design and management, teaching vocational horticulture, tree farming, and commercial horticulture support. He has extensive experience teaching science to elementary and middle school students and has worked with children K-12. Tom also has experience in ornamental plant care/production and will bring a great deal of knowledge to the position to support local producers, forestry, home horticulture, and commercial horticulture, and conservation of natural resources. Tom enjoys camping, skiing, snowboarding, boating, outdoor activities, reading, and time for family and service to the community. He is excited to be able to share his passion for agriculture and natural resources with the residents of Lake County.
